Rapper, songwriter, and record producer Kim Nam-joon, better known as RM, made his name as leader of K-pop sensation BTS. But he’s also become an established art collector. RM spoke to me about meeting Eminem as a teenager, the formation of BTS, their rise to global fame, the first artwork he ever bought. Shortly before this appeared, BTS stunningly announced that the group’s members would be focusing on solo projects, and I suddenly came to understand the enormous power of K-pop. The podcast had circa 400,000 downloads in a week and I got endless DMs from BTS superfans correcting me on minor points. Plus parts of the podcast were popping up all over the Tik Tok K-pop world. People were looking for clues. And if you listen closely, you can hear hints of his struggle with being a 28-year-old 'boy group' star - and with the machinery of Kpop stardom.
